Cantica

Cantica is the Fin-Tech intelligence and data analysis system behind The Bright Minded. It reads what happens across Fin-Tech and weighs what each development means for the people who live with the result, judges them, identifies patterns, and structures findings.

The name is a tribute to the structure of Dante's Divina Commedia. Dante crosses three worlds while learning and understanding. We cross the times of Fin-Tech for the same reason. A cantica is the structure that holds the journey, and this one holds ours: the passage across the good and the bad of Fin-Tech, made with data rather than instinct.

One journey, three worlds

Cantica is built in three canticles, like the Commedia, and every event crosses them in Dante's own order. Down into the depths where everything is read. Up through the judgment that decides which developments rise as Good and which fall as Bad. Then, for the patterns that earn it, into the clear view of a finished report. What follows is the map of that journey.

Inferno: where everything lands

The deepest layer is internal, and it is the largest. Everything that happens across Fin-Tech lands here first, every day: announcements, filings, launches, funding rounds, approvals, enforcement actions.

The industry does not report itself in order, so the Inferno's work is order. Each event is read, stored, and analysed. This is Cantica's memory, and the layer where patterns are identified. Nothing down here is ever thrown away, and everything above stands on it.

Purgatorio: where events are weighed

The middle layer is the one you can watch working.

Cantica's Purgatorio lifts the developments that matter out of the deep each day and weighs them, one by one, for their likely consequence for the people who live with the result. The judgment has two directions, like the mountain. A development judged Good is Elevated. It rises, joins the Counter on the Good side, and takes its place in the Ticker and the cards with a short assessment of what happened.

A development judged Bad is Condemned. It falls, and it does not disappear. It stands in the same Counter, on the other side, carried in the same Ticker and the same cards. Both directions stay in view, always, because counting only one side would be telling half the story.

Why part of Cantica is public

Part of an otherwise internal system is deliberately visible. What you see on this page is the reason this publication exists and the principles behind it, shown rather than claimed. This is Cantica's Purgatorio.

What you see

The Ticker carries the most recent events in Fin-Tech, no matter the judgement. The Counter holds every event Cantica's Purgatorio has judged Good or Bad since it started reading. Below sit the elevated events, each with a short assessment of what happened and the side it falls on.

How an event becomes Good or Bad

Some of what happens across the industry is judged each day and elevated to Good or Bad. The judgment follows the likely consequence of an event for the people who live with the result, weighing what a development does to the cost of money, to access, to safety, to a person's control over their own finances, and to their economic standing. A development that reads as good news can land as Bad once you follow it to the person who carries the result, and the reverse is just as common.

These labels belong to The Bright Minded. They follow this publication's editorial policy, its principles, and the audience it is written for, not a universal verdict. The method does not change with the result. A count that runs heavier on one side is the honest outcome of the same reading applied to everything, and it stays as it is.

The Counter

Cantica's Purgatorio started reading and judging on 7 June 2026 and became visible here on 20 June 2026. The Counter has never been reset, and it never will be. Every Good and every Bad since the first day remains in the total. The assessments and the elevated events update through the day as the system keeps reading.

Cantica and its Counter are the clearest form of the idea this publication was built on. Telling the good side of Fin-Tech honestly means telling the other side too, and counting both.
